Raúl Pereda takes advantage in the IV Copa Multimedios in Valle Alto

Raúl Pereda from Veracruz heads the IV Copa Multimedios that takes place at the Valle Alto Golf Club, a tournament that marks the 50th stage in the history of the Mexican Professional Golf Tour and that distributes a purse of one million 600 thousand pesos.


MONTERREY, NUEVO LEÓN.- (November 11, 2022).- A second round of 67 shots, for a total of 132, ten under par, placed the Mexican Raúl Pereda as the sole leader of the IV Multimedios Cup, third stage of the 2022-23 season of the Mexican Professional Golf Tour.

The native of Orizaba, Veracruz, had a solid first round by signing birdies on holes one, four, six and nine, without any error throughout the journey. “It was another very good day, I was very solid off the tee, I had too many opportunities for birdie,” said Raúl Pereda, a member of the PGA Tour Latinoamérica.

“It was a bogey-free round, that speaks volumes about what today's round was like. I have been very patient and calm when it comes to playing”, commented Pereda, who said about the Valle Alto Golf Club in Monterrey: “You have to hit it very well from the start to position yourself very well since the greens have a lot of movement…easy It is not".

Tied for second with a score of 135 shots, seven under par, were Brazilian Rafael Becker and American Joel Thelen, while tied for fourth with a total of 136 hits, six fewer, are Mexicans Juan Carlos Benítez. , José Narro and Juan Carlos Serrano.

The best amateur in the competition, who distributes a bag of one million 600 thousand pesos, is the local Marcelo Treviño who, with a score of 139 shots, three under par, is tied for tenth position with players of the likes of Mexican Aarón Terrazas and of the Venezuelan Manuel Torres.

At the end of the second round, the experienced four-time PGA Tour Champions winner Esteban Toledo and the 2016 Mexican Golf Open champion Sebastián Vázquez gave a golf clinic to members of the Valle Alto Golf Club.
